Mistake Braid Socks!

A long time ago, a ravelry mistake inspired me. Yes, I loved a mistake! The pattern of those armwarmers was supposed to be the usual braid. And I love the look of the usual braid - but this looks so unique and cool, the idea got caught in my head!

I meant to use this cable pattern - on something, anything, really - for every since. But I didn't until I saw a quite unique submission call from Dream in Color for their new base, were I just had to try. Basically, they let you publish your design all by your own, they just asked to use their yarn and start a kal. They offer yarn support and exposure for nothing but exopsure? Of course I'm in!

I was sketching on quite a few design ideas at that time, but none were ripe enough to submit. So I was thinking... what could I do with worsted? As usual, I looked through my old faves on ravelry, saw this, and the idea was sparked. Why not make some warm cushy cabled socks?

It was bitter cold at that time, and I realised I didn't have enough (none) really warm, cushy, cabled socks. Socks that are perfect for lounging around and just curling up to warm up. You see what I did there... ;)

So this socks were born! And I love them so much :) You can't believe how incredibly soft, cushy, and simply luxurious Calm from Dream in Color is.

Dream in Color was extra generous and stuck in a skein of everlasting Sock, in the gorgeous colorway amethyst. I can't believe I haven't knitted purple socks before! I love the color so much!

The pattern for both socks will come soon on Ravelry.
